The minimum charge for water on residential accounts is $6.00 for the first 400 cubic feet of usage. The charge after that is $1.55 for each additional 100 cubic feet. Residential accounts are billed every other month. For our commercial accounts, which are billed on a monthly basis, the minimum charge is $6.00 for the first 200 cubic feet of usage. Each additional 100 cubic feet after that is $1.55 The Coralville Water Department does not require any deposit to establish service.
The sewer rate is $1.90 per 100 cubic feet of usage. The minimum residential usage is 400 cubic feet and the minimum charge is $13.12. The minimum sewer charge for commercial account which uses 200 cubic feet or less per month is $6.56.
The trash charge on your water bill is $7.50 per month. Residential users are billed every other month so the bill will reflect a $15.00 charge. In addition to this charge, residents must purchase either $1.00 garbage tags for each bag set at the curb for pickup or they may purchase an annual garbage sticker for any 33 gallon trash can at $40.00. The annual stickers are available at the Coralville City Hall, Library, Recreation Center, HyVee Foods and True Value Hardware from January thru March 31 each year. For the remainder of the year, annual stickers can only be purchased at Coralville City Hall. The $1.00 tags can be bought at all area grocery stores and at Coralville City Hall.
